I am a full professor and Canada Research Chair in Global Political Ecology at the Balsillie School of International Affairs and Wilfrid Laurier University.

For nearly two decades, I’ve studied how global structures of violence, power and oppression shape ecological and political systems. I've had the privilege of learning from communities who are tackling some of the world's most complex threats, from plant and animal extinctions to genocide, colonization, racism, ableism, rapid technological change and ecological violence.

I’m the author or editor of 50 peer-reviewed publications, including 4 books, along with dozens of blog posts, editorials and other publications. I’ve given keynote talks, invited lectures and workshops in more than 10 countries. As a knowledge strategist, I’ve consulted and provided expert advice to governments, NGOs, museums, funding bodies and other institutions around the world, and I’ve worked with multiple communities to co-create and share knowledge across diverse cultures, mediums and contexts.
