Keynote talks, public lectures podcasts and interviews

I’ve been honoured to deliver over 30 invited keynote talks, public lectures, seminars, podcasts and extended interviews at universities, museums, conferences, educational centers, NGOs, arts organizations and community-based organizations around the world, and on public radio and TV in the UK, Canada and Australia.

I am a versatile and engaging speaker who blends rich research-based evidence with compelling arguments and a lively narrative style. I am at home speaking to a wide range of groups, from university settings to community-based organisations and diverse publics.

Each keynote, lecture or public talk is conceived and designed to resonate with the particular audience, community or group in question. Formats of my talks have included: lectures; ‘evening with’ conversations; collective keynotes (curated by me); seminars and masterclasses; artistic exhibitions/talks; interactive storytelling; and media and podcast interviews.

If you are interested in inviting me to speak to your organization or community, please feel free to reach out.

Workshops, training and futuring sessions

I have created and delivered dozens of workshops, gatherings, training sessions, creative interludes, ideation meetings and planning processes in over 10 countries in a wide range of contexts, from universities, research centers and museums to governmental organizations, grassroots movements and NGOs.

My approach to workshops is rooted in;

  • facilitation: bringing ease to the process of sharing and idea-making, creating a space of shared creativity and trust

  • elicitation: helping to ‘draw out’ the key ideas, questions, goals and aspirations of participants and the group as a whole

  • plurality: deep respect for the diverse cultures, knowledge systems and lived experience of participants

Some examples of the formats and themes of workshops I’ve created and delivered:

  • Multi-perspective futuring processes and exercises

  • Inter-community and cross-culture knowledge-sharing meetings

  • Co-writing and co-creation workshops

  • Manifesto-making for organizations and futuring processes

  • Arts-, craft- and design-based planning and agenda-setting workshops

  • Creative planning and path-finding processes for organizations and networks
